Set up SAML-based single sign-on so your team can log in to Nerve using their Google Workspace accounts.

Prerequisites

  • Google Workspace admin access
  • A Nerve account on a plan that supports SSO

Setup

Open the Google Admin console

Navigate to AppsWeb and mobile apps in your Google Admin console. Click Add app, then select Add custom SAML app.

Fill in app details

On the App details screen, enter the following:

For the app icon, download and upload this image: Nerve icon.Click Continue.

Download IdP metadata

On the Google Identity Provider details screen, click Download Metadata to download the IdP metadata XML file.Send this file to us at [email protected], or via your shared Slack support channel if you have one.Click Continue.

Configure service provider details

On the Service provider details screen, you will need to enter the ACS URL and Entity ID. Both values will be provided by the Nerve team after we receive your IdP metadata from the previous step.
We will respond within 24 hours with the ACS URL and Entity ID you need to complete this step.
Once you have the values, enter them and click Continue.

Configure attribute mapping

On the Attribute mapping screen, add the following mappings:
Google Directory attributeApp attribute
Primary emailemail
First namefirstName
Last namelastName
Click Finish.

Verify SSO

Once setup is complete:
  1. Go to app.usenerve.com.
  2. Log out if you are currently logged in.
  3. Log back in with an email address on the same domain as your Google Workspace account.
  4. You should be automatically redirected to Google to authenticate, and then redirected back to Nerve.
After SSO is configured, all users on your domain will be required to use SSO to log in to Nerve.
